CASTINGS
The casting process is essential for the project, it is super important for you to pick the right cast as you imagined it or maybe as close as you can get (Raindance). For you to choose the right guy for the job, you need to build a profile as for how do you want the character to be physically and mentally. From the script, pick a couple of lines or scenes for the actors to play. It is super important to evaluate which lines are the most appropriate for the actor to play, because you want a certain expression that it is very necessary for the developing of the character maybe, or you want a complex thing that may require experience (Dream Board). Next you need to create a poster or announcement that looks appealing for people to participate on your casting. Then try to send and inform as many people as you can, through social media, whatsapp group chats, and many others. The casting should be as professional and respectful as possible because you need the perfect actor. If not necessary, it is at least very recommendable that you film the casting, this will help you a lot to evaluate the performance of every actor afterwards.
In our case, we established the age of the characters, but we were flexible because we can rely on makeup and dressing to pretend they were elder. We focused more on the acting; we wanted the play of the actors to match the profile of the character. We picked dialogue from different scenes to get a better understanding of the capabilities of the actor, tricky reactions to display the understanding of the character. Then we created a post to promote among group chats and social media; we set the casting to be two consecutive days for an hour and a half. We waited for people to come and then we filmed them playing the part as you can see in this video. Then we reunited another day to pick the right cast and we all agreed on the same actors.
